Donation scheme “50 – 50 – 50”
The people working for the companies of the Phanos Epiphaniou group, 140 in total, enjoyed a pleasant as well as entertaining evening on Friday 8th of June, at a party celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary. The party took place in Limassol at Ktima Demosthenous, a place that perfectly hosted the event, which included dinner and drinks, as well as dancing to the music till the early morning hours. Mr. Phanos Epiphaniou himself, founder of the company, attended the event and actively participated in everything, including the dance. In his address, Mr. Epiphaniou talked briefly about the company’s history and the milestones that marked its course in the Cyprus construction market. He expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the successful position of the company and revealed what he considers to be the recipe for success: hard work, humbleness and prudent management. During their own short addresses, Nicholas Epiphaniou, Andri Epiphaniou and Marina Epiphaniou – Clerides, members of the Epiphaniou family and management, have also stressed the importance of everyone’s role in the company and expressed their gratitude. They referred to the highly respected position that the company and its staff enjoy in the market as a result of the fair way of doing business throughout its history, allowing everyone to feel proud. Despite the blow that the company had suffered as a result of the Turkish invasion and the deprivation of all its assets, it has managed to rebuild itself from scratch and claim a leading position. The management of the company has chosen an alternative as well as interesting way to express its gratitude towards its customers and the society in general. Through a scheme referred to as “50–50– 50” the company’s personnel will have a direct say in 50 donation gestures that will be given to various causes over the course of a 50-week period. The total amount to be donated will be €50.000. The target of this initiative is to actively involve the company’s people in expressing appreciation and to cultivate a culture of volunteerism and giving. During the event, the company had its long-service award ceremony for this year, a practice that takes place every year to honour its loyal members. The longest service award this year was given to Mr. Phanos Epiphaniou, who remains active in the company today, acting as the Chairman of the group.
